Topic A: Rights and Responsibilities of Host Nations.
Host Nations are those who allow the entrance of refugees to their countries. Since refuges are mostly running away from danger they frequently arrive to the host country traumatized and in need of medical treatment, and without any money or other means of subsistence. They generally do not speak the language of the country of refuge, and they may face hostility from other residents in the country of refuge.
Host Nations often face difficulties while receiving refuges into their countries and they tend to receive more refugees than the ones they are capable of receiving. This is why many times Host Nations start to close their borders although they have accepted to receive refugees.
Your aim with this topic is to discuss the responsibilities that a Host Nation has by receiving refugees and as well the rights this nations have to close their borders among other things.
Topic B: The effect of refugees and displaced persons as workers on developing nations and the global economy.
Let’s talk about emerging nations, the United Arab Emirates, for instance. A nation that benefits from the amount of workers who come in and out of it. A nation that keeps growing; increasing its economy, thanks to refugees and displaced persons that seek for shelter in this emerging and now, very important nation.
Displaced persons and refugees, believe it or not, are quite favorable for a serious plethora of countries. They contribute to their economy, the growth of their nation in almost every possible way, and the enhancement of cultures and diversity in the country. Anyhow, not every single country watches this as a viable way of growth. Some of them consider it’s unfair that foreign people take their “original” positions when coming to jobs, spaces, and more.
Your aim in this topic is to concentrate on how your country is benefitted or not from these persons, and what can you do to improve their situation if once your country becomes a witness of these migrant-involving situations.
