Topic A: Women and Youth as Empowering Sources of the Global Economy.
Without pretending to sound any discriminatory, women have lately been a topic of great discussion. Some cultures won’t allow them to do many things, and others will even encourage them more than they actually need to do things. In the other hand, young people have as well lately been a topic within a lot of disputes. Whether they should work or not, whether they should be the new leaders of the world or not… Endless discussion.
Like it or not, women and young people are now playing a big part on Global Economy. Since women were given the right to vote in almost every country, they have become more and more important in almost any aspect. The bad news is, that not every country or religion or other ethnic preferences allows them to be that important.
Same for young people: They now own a big piece of the pie when coming to economical terms, and most importantly, many countries are running out of young people. What will happen to their economies when their vast majority of elder people can’t work anymore?
Those are your focuses on this topic. We recommend you to look for information concerning women’s and young people’s rights, so you can know under what statutes they currently live in, and how could you improve those according to your country.
Topic B: Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States in the Caribbean Region.
The Four Asian Dragons, also known as the Four Asian Tigers. Four of the world’s smallest countries representing emerging nations with vast increasing numbers when coming to development and economy. They have become the model to-be of different nations surrounding them, or not surrounding them. That is the case of the small Caribbean Islands.
Many of these Islands are struggling to become strong economies, many of them basing their economies on tourism. Thankfully, this plan has more-less worked: The Caribbean Islands are now very popular traveling destinations for Americans, Europeans, Asians and more. But do they have what it takes to become big economical destinations?
Many of them don’t have the space. Many of them don’t have the resources. Many of them just rely on their beautiful beaches and how tourists appreciate that. But since they don’t have the resources, other countries decide to invest in these small, developing states, and as a consequence, comes what’s undeniable: Pollution.
Your goal in this topic is to improve the ways on how these islands can develop, whether it involves foreign intervention or not. We severely recommend trying to focus on the economical, social and developing aspects, and how your country can contribute to do things better when coming to these emerging states.
